• A credit repair agency is a company that offers to help improve your credit report/score for a fee.

  If you are considering using a credit repair agency, you should avoid any agency offering to repair the credit data itself. There is no way to amend information on your credit report without the consent of the lender or a court order.

  There are others that are perfectly legally. These companies offer to negotiate with your creditors, maybe to arrange paymet of a reduced amount to avoid court action. But this is nothing you can’t do yourself.

  If you feel you need help with your finances you may want to contact Citizens Advice Bureau or Consumer Credit Counselling Service.
